The SIAFRA standard
The product should carry the proof.
SIAFRA is built around a simple rule: disclose what a piece is made from, test what matters, and distinguish a target from a result.
- 01State what it is
- Base metal, finish and construction belong on the product page. No vague language in place of a specification.
- 02Test the finished piece
- Every promise is tested against finished samples. If a sample falls short, the piece changes before launch.
- 03Publish the result
- A claim becomes evidence only when the test is complete. Reports will appear with the first production run.
- 04Keep the terms clear
- Care, returns and the guarantee will be written before orders open, in language that is easy to use.
Current status
The specification is 18K gold PVD over stainless steel, not brass, and the supplier’s SGS report records nickel release below detection against European REACH limits. The promise is already clear: a considered jewelry uniform, backed by “If it fades, we’ll trade.”
Our editorial policy
Everything published here is written by SIAFRA rather than credited to an individual. In place of a byline, the rules the writing follows are published, so any page can be checked against them.
- Specified is not measured
- A specified value is what the first run is being built to: a design target, honest to state as an intention. A measured value came off an instrument and has a report behind it. Every number on this site is currently specified, and it says so. No specified value will be presented as a result.
- What we will not claim
- No durability or water-resistance promise, because nothing has been tested to destruction yet. No coating thickness, because the reading does not exist. Not “hypoallergenic”, because a supplier report on nickel release is not the same claim. No reviews or ratings, because there are no customers yet. Where a piece can be bought, its price, stock and terms come from the shop rather than from this copy.
- Evidence, and whose it is
- The nickel result on this site is a supplier SGS report from April 2026, not an independent one, and it is described that way wherever it appears. Guides in the Journal cite their sources — the FTC, the NHS, published metallurgy — so a reader can check the claim at its origin rather than taking ours for it.
- Imagery
- Current product imagery is rendered, and labelled as a design preview wherever it appears. A render can introduce a shape; it cannot evidence a finish or a colour. Photographs replace it once the first samples are shot.
- Corrections
- If a page states something this policy forbids, it is an error rather than a position. Write to hello@siafra.com and the page gets corrected.
